Experience AI is an 8-hour teacher training program developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and Google DeepMind and delivered by Amideast. The program helps teachers introduce students to the foundations of AI and empowers them to become critical and responsible users. Young people will also benefit from new resources on AI safety, including how to protect their data.

STEM for Sustainability is an innovative education and training program offered by Amideast Morocco through sponsorship from Boeing. The program draws a clear connection between Morocco’s current generation of 18 - 25 year olds, and their ability to shape their future in ways that are sustainable and address current environmental challenges.

The American Corners provide welcoming environments where Tunisians can learn about the United States through diverse programming, as well as through books, movies, games, and magazines.

Future Pathways — Careers & Opportunities entails a series of three speaker events that will introduce you to various industries and employment pathways in the private sector. The program will also raise your awareness of the skills necessary to perform different job functions and increase students’ knowledge of the various career paths they can start upon graduation.

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on all corners of Jordanian society. Economic participation of women in the Jordanian economy hovered at a mere 14.9% in March 2020, and post-pandemic statistics indicate that the effects of the pandemic will represent a significant step back for women in the workplace in Jordan.

As businesses resume near-normal operations and children return to schools, many women who were employed prior to the pandemic will find an uphill climb to returning to the labor market, and some will not return at all.

The tourism and hospitality industry had a record year in 2019 and comprised nearly 20% of Jordan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) that year, employing thousands in the sectors across the kingdom and generating millions in revenue for the economy.

This program consists of three core components and encompasses 430 hours of training delivered over 16 months: 340 hours of English language instruction, 50 hours of computer skills, and 40 hours of leadership and community service.

The Skills for Tomorrow program addresses several complementary goals through an integrated approach of specific relevance for youth. These include the following:

Amideast’s Inspire program was launched in 2018 in Irbid for 80 Jordanian and Syrian youth ages 13-15. With support from the U.S. Department of State and the Regional English Language Office at the U.S.

Supported through UNICEF Jordan, Amideast is providing English language and digital literacy skills for 480 Syrian youth ages 16-24 in Azraq refugee camp. Each student receives 80 hours of English language education coupled with sessions on preparing applications for university scholarships, creating a CV, and developing writing skills for cover letters for employment or university applications.

The Sustainable Cultural Heritage Through the Engagement of Local Communities Project (SCHEP) is implemented by the American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR) and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
