About the Program

STEM PLUS COURSES (AGE 16-22)

Students will choose one of the two available courses, Graphics, Animation & 3D Printing or Programming & Web Development. All students who complete either of those technical courses will be eligible to apply to the STEM Entrepreneurship course. 

Graphics, Animation & 3D printing (48 hours) 

• Introduction to basic and advanced techniques of motion graphics 

STEAM is a learning pedagogy that emphasizes an interdisciplinary, applied approach to learning the five subjects in question – science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. STEAM activities help children master more than subject matter; through project-based learning, STEAM empowers children to acquire future skills that they can use to succeed in any field.

About the Program

The primary aims of the STEM Program are to develop students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills through STEM education and increase their awareness of career opportunities that are available in STEM fields.

Program objectives

• Offer an opportunity for young Egyptian entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative and sustainable business ideas that are designed by STEM principals to address community and global challenges
• Provide seed funding for winners to support their startups
• Raise awareness and encourage youth to develop innovations using the STEM approach that provide sustainable solutions for a better globe
• Shed light on winners’ innovations for potential sponsors, business partners, and mentors who are in the STEM, sustainability, and entrepreneurship ec

The program, initially offered at the STEM Center with funding from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, equips students with the knowledge and skill sets of the 21st century to become active participants and make a change.

The program's goals are to:

STEM is a learning pedagogy that emphasizes an interdisciplinary, applied approach to learning the four subjects in question ̶science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, commonly referred to as STEM. It incorporates hands-on learning and experimentation to promote the development of critical thinking and innovation in youth and children. With an emphasis on engineering, the approach also encourages young professionals to create new inventions that respond to the changing needs of the global economy.
