About the Program
The primary aims of the STEM Program are to develop students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills through STEM education and increase their awareness of career opportunities that are available in STEM fields. Junior students (ages 8-15) will choose one of the following courses: LEGO® Education; Programming and Programmatic Thinking; and Artificial Intelligence. Plus students (ages 16-22) will choose one of the following courses: Programming and Web Development; Animation, Graphics, and 3D Printing; and Artificial Intelligence.
All students who complete any of these technical courses will be eligible to apply to the STEM Entrepreneurs course.
STEM Junior (ages 8-15)
LEGO® Education (16 hours)
- LEGO Education WeDo 2.0
- Working models of powered machines demonstration
- Science, Engineering, technology, and coding engagement
- Building, programming, and modifying different projects
Programming and Programmatic Thinking (16 hours)
- Design and code interactive games, stories, and animations utilizing the multilingual programming language Scratch and Arduino
- Creative thinking and the usage of reasoning thought processes
- Collaborative work to promote 21st-century skills
Artificial Intelligence (16 hours)
- Discover the fundamentals of artificial intelligence (AI)
- Engage in hands-on activities to create and train AI models
- Explore how AI can recognize patterns and make decisions
STEM Junior Entrepreneurs (16 hours)
- Understand entrepreneurship basics with special emphasis on the fields of STEM
- Promote innovation to address needs and challenges facing local communities creating critical issues in the 21st century
- Learn critical topics such as developing business model canvas, identifying target audiences, developing management and financial plans, pitching business ideas and identifying investment sources
STEM Plus (ages 16-22)
Programming and Web Development (48 hours)
- Introduction to programming languages and web technologies
- Hands-on projects to create interactive websites
- Explore design principles and user experience
- Develop teamwork and problem-solving skills
Animation, Graphics, and 3D Printing (48 hours)
- Explore the basics of animation and graphic design
- Create engaging animations and visual content through hands-on projects
- Learn about 3D modeling and the principles of 3D printing
- Develop creativity and technical skills in digital design
Artificial Intelligence (48 hours)
- Discover the fundamentals of artificial intelligence (AI)
- Engage in hands-on activities to create and train AI models
- Explore how AI can recognize patterns and make decisions
STEM Plus Entrepreneurship (48 hours)
- Understand entrepreneurship basics with special emphasis on the fields of STEM
- Promote innovation to address needs and challenges facing local communities creating critical issues in the 21st century

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Egyptian nationals residing in Greater Cairo
- Aged 8-15 (Junior) or 16-22 (Plus)
- Interested in different STEM fields
- Willing to fully commit to the duration of the program
*Preference will be given to underprivileged children in public governmental schools with demonstrable STEM interest, academic excellence, and engagement in extracurricular activities
