American Corner Beirut

An American Cultural Center in the Heart of Beirut

Led by the U.S. Embassy in Beirut in partnership with Amideast, American Corner Beirut offers diversified and accessible educational activities highlighting the American history and culture. American Corner Beirut is a U.S. Embassy-sponsored public diplomacy facility funded by the U.S. Embassy in Beirut and American Spaces, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State.

American Corner Beirut is a cross-cultural space dedicated to spreading knowledge to everyone virtually and in-person through cultural workshops and events. Our mission is to provide an open-access space to connect people in Lebanon with each other and with the American culture, promoting effective communication in diverse learning styles. We envision a cultural learning environment where opportunities are unlocked to excel academically and professionally.

English language learning is one of the main pillars of American Corner Beirut, creating opportunities for English language learners to engage in discussions and conversations. You can join our English clubs, monthly events, and talks on a variety of topics led by visitors from the United States, alumni of State Department supported programs, or English language instructors. There is also a library that offers a wealth of books, magazines, and computers to research and help learners achieve their academic goals and learn about American culture.

The center offers skill-building workshops designed to empower current and future leaders with employability, career guidance, and personal growth. American Corner Beirut helps visitors discover and build their personal and professional skills in an innovative environment to succeed in education and career.

The center provides access to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, or mathematics) education that advocates creativity in a Maker Space to empower community members with diverse innovative skills.

We believe in the accessibility of opportunities for everyone, regardless of their abilities, in all events. The center provides a welcoming environment and educational accessibility to all events for people with disabilities.
