Ms. Mona Oswald is a retired Financial Marketing Executive with experience in broad-based strategic sales planning, market expansion, and relationship management. As a Vice President of Investments with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney she advised high-net-worth individuals, family offices, law firms, and other corporate clients concerning investment opportunities, retirement, and pension planning.
She holds a Master of International Public Policy, with a focus on the Middle East, from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), a Master of Business Administration from George Mason University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Radford University. As a first-generation American, with parents of Egyptian and Lebanese descent, she has worked with organizations doing business in the Middle East to identify and develop opportunities that promote growth and sustainability with a particular focus on women’s issues in the region.
Ms. Oswald is an active philanthropist with interests in mental health issues, women’s equality, global security, and Middle East policy. She has worked with various NGOs at multiple levels advising organizations on strategic planning, fundraising, and organizational transitions. In addition to her work with Amideast, she is currently a member of the board of the Rene Moawad Foundation (RMF), which promotes peace, stability, and prosperity in Lebanon through sustainable human development activities. She managed the formation of Women Forward International (WFI), a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to partner the next generation with nonprofit and private sector organizations to implement solutions critical to human progress, bridging mind and heart to bring about unity, collaboration, and service to humanity.
