Mr. James T. Grabowski has served as Amideast's Vice President for Field Operations since August 2007. In this capacity, he is responsible for the oversight of operations, workforce development projects, and standardized testing activities in the organization’s network of field offices located in 11 countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Prior to his current U.S.-based position, Mr. Grabowski worked in Yemen for 5 years and in Egypt for 19 years, where he held a number of senior management positions on USAID-funded development assistance projects in the areas of educational reform and the administration of justice/rule of law; he also served as Country Director of the Amideast/Egypt field office. He possesses an advanced level of proficiency in Arabic.
Mr, Grabowski received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Education from Le Moyne College and a Master of Science in Broadcast Journalism/Television, Radio, and Film from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. He also completed an Executive Education Certification Program for Nonprofit Professionals at the Columbia Business School.
