As the Director of Risk Management, Assets, and Facilities, Mr. Jay Makdissi is responsible for all aspects of risk management, including physical and technical security and safety at our U.S. and international facilities.
Mr. Makdissi brings a rich and diverse professional background to Amideast, beginning with a 15-year journey in diplomatic service that required him to navigate roles across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. He then spent five years in academia, educating students in international relations, public speaking, and communication. Before joining Amideast in 2022, he worked as a senior consultant in financial due diligence and compliance, including assisting U.S. law firms in their sanction’s practices in the MENA region.
Mr. Makdissi holds a PhD in philosophy from the American University in London, a master’s degree in diplomacy and international relations from the University of Westminster, advanced diplomas in international relations from the École Nationale D’Administration in Paris and in language interpretation and translation from the University Lyon, and a bachelor’s degree in human science and French literature from the University of Damascus. He speaks English, Arabic, and French.
