Mr. Antoine N. Frem is the co-founder and vice chairman of INDEVCO, a group of manufacturing enterprises that produce paperboard, corrugated cartons, plastics, and sanitary products. He is also the chairman of the board of UNIPAK, a subsidiary of INDEVCO that specializes in packaging solutions. He has more than 45 years of experience in the packaging and paperboard industry and has worked in the US and international markets.
Mr. Frem is also involved in public and community service. He served as the mayor of Jounieh, a coastal city in Lebanon, from 2010 to 2016. He is a member of several boards of directors, including Amideast; the Children Cancer Center Lebanon, affiliated with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; the Friends of the Lebanese Academy for Sciences, a non-governmental organization that supports scientific research and innovation in Lebanon; and the Caux Round Table, a network of senior business leaders that promotes corporate responsibility. He is also a member of the advisory board of the Institute of Family and Entrepreneurial Business at the Lebanese American University, and a member of the board of the Lebanese Management Association and the Young Men's Christian Association Lebanon. He was a member of the board of trustees of the Lebanese American University for more than 30 years and served as the chairman and secretary of the board in the past.
Mr. Frem holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in chemical engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and a PhD in the same field from Harvard Business School. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, and obtained certificates in private wealth management from the Wharton School, governing the family business from Kellogg Business School, making corporate boards more effective from Harvard Business School, and strategic human resources from IMD Switzerland.
