Vice President, Development and External Engagement

Mr. Vincent V. DeSomma serves as Amideast’s Vice President of Business Development, overseeing a dedicated new business team and Amideast’s business development operations. He works closely with Amideast’s other executives and senior managers to develop new programs and pursue opportunities with U.S. Government agencies as well as private funders and multilateral donors. As a member of Amideast’s Senior Leadership Team, Mr. DeSomma applies his experience leading strategies for effective programming with the U.S. Department of State and USAID, multilateral development banks, foundations, corporations, and foreign governments. Before joining Amideast in 2006, he led business development teams at organizations focused on international development, including CARANA Corporation (now Palladium International LLC), K&M Engineering and Consulting Corporation, PADCO, Inc. (now DT Global), and University Research Corporation. 

Mr. DeSomma received an MA in international relations from the University of Chicago, an MA in diplomatic history from the University of Vermont, and a BA in political science/history from Bethany College. He is the author of two non-fiction books for young adults, a history of Russia and the Soviet Union, and an examination of the exploration of Mars.
