Mr. Amjad Ahmad

Mr. Amjad Ahmad is a Managing Partner and Emerging Market Advisor at 500 Global, a venture capital firm that invests in founders building fast-growing technology companies. He is also an instructor for 500 Global’s Venture Education, training the next generation of venture capitalists and angel investors in various markets. Mr. Ahmad serves on the board of directors of Amideast, Homzmart, Koita Foods, and Tapal Tea. 

Mr. Ahmad has invested in emerging markets for over two decades, building two investment firms and providing over $1 billion in venture and growth financing to companies in the Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan, and Turkey in sectors ranging from technology and education to healthcare and finance. Mr. Ahmad was the Founding Director and Chairman of the empowerME initiative at the Atlantic Council, focusing on improving policies and investments in entrepreneurship, women’s economic participation, and the private sector in MENA and promoting U.S. and MENA economic engagement. 

Mr. Ahmad holds a master’s degree in international finance and economics from Columbia University and is a graduate of the general management program at Harvard Business School.
