This workshop is customized to empower people who want to launch a new business or who are already operating one in the MENA region. Successful business ownership needs more than a great idea, product or service. Business success also needs an entrepreneurial mindset, understanding strategic and business planning, finance and accounting, legal requirements, management, sales and marketing, as well as key success factors and avoidable mistakes.

The Arab Women’s Entrepreneurship Project (AWEP) is a Citi Foundation-funded initiative, implemented by Amideast in Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, and the UAE. In each country 20 women will compete to be selected to participate in the program and receive:

The Amideast Entrepreneur Institute (AEI) seeks to advance entrepreneurship as a way of stimulating job creation and economic growth in the Middle East and North Africa. Based in Beirut and open to those residing in the MENA region, AEI offers onsite and virtual training and other support to new and aspiring entrepreneurs as they seek to launch and grow their business ventures. AEI's mission is to train, support, and help entrepreneurs network and build relevant business contacts.
Over a two-year period, the partnership between Amideast/Egypt and Citi provided training, coaching, incubation, and other support to more than 40 aspiring young Egyptian entrepreneurs, with more than 16 companies among them.
In addition, the program's emphasis on paying-it-forward raised awareness of entrepreneurship among more than 1,500 youth, thereby contributing to building a new generation of entrepreneurs.
