Palestinian Faculty Development Program (PFDP) ― WEST BANK/GAZA

About

Through the successive components of PFDP, a community of practice has evolved among Palestinian academics, beginning with a focus on improving the quality of individual Palestinian faculty, expanding to facilitate improved teaching and learning practices in higher education institutions, and culminating in the establishment of Centers for Teaching Excellence at four universities—An Najah National University, Palestine Polytechnic University, Bethlehem University, and Palestine Technical University—where a new culture of teaching and learning has taken root.

Leadership & Teacher Development (LTD) ― West Bank/Gaza

Implemented in partnership with USAID and the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), the Leadership and Teacher Development (LTD) Program was guided by the MoEHE’s priority to invest in Palestinian schools and improve classroom instruction. By 2018, it had introduced innovative approaches to school leadership and professional development that significantly improved learning among 150,000 students in grades five through 10 in 454 schools across the West Bank.

QITABI ― Lebanon

In late September 2014, USAID awarded Quality Instruction Towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI), a $42 million grant to implement basic education services in Lebanon’s public schools over a four-year period, to Amideast, World Learning, MSI, and Ana Aqra’.

About E4F

The five-year E4F project aims to improve teaching and learning practices in 400 schools, increase student engagement in non-formal, supplementary educational activities, and strengthen the capacity of leadership and management at the MoEHE to ensure the gains will be sustainable.
