AMIDEAST strives to provide accurate, comprehensive, current, and unbiased information on educational opportunities in the United States. Our office is part of the EducationUSA network of approximately 450 advising centers worldwide affiliated with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. All AMIDEAST advising centers adhere to EducationUSA ethical standards.

The Educational Information Center (EIC) in Tunis maintains an extensive collection of materials on U.S. and regional educational opportunities available for public use. Additionally, the EIC provides numerous educational and career information services, including free introductory public information sessions on various aspects of U.S. education, individual consultations on U.S. study, and application support services. A membership and career support program is also available for U.S. graduates returning to Tunisia. Support for institutions is offered in such areas as testing, training, recruitment of students or employees, and development and accreditation of American-model educational programs.

You can also take part in virtual events and in the interactive videoconferences with U.S. universities held periodically at our office.

The Educational Information Center (EIC) at AMIDEAST/Tunis maintains an extensive collection of materials on U.S. and regional educational opportunities including books, software, college and university catalogs, brochures on professional training opportunities, audiovisual materials, and more.

AMIDEAST/Tunis offers a valuable membership plan that provides access to advising library and Internet resources. Contact us for membership fee information.

  • Approximately 1,500 reference books on U.S. education, testing, financial aid, fields of study, and other subjects 
  • Current files on over 100 areas of study/careers 
  • Information on English language and professional short-term training in the United States 
  • Over 1,000 print U.S. college and university catalogs (in addition to a comprehensive online collection)
  • Nearly 600 files on U.S. colleges and universities 
  • Computers with college selection software

 

Resources and Support for U.S. Undergraduates and Graduates

 


AMIDEAST/Tunisia's services don't end after your study in the United States is over. The office provides a range of resources and services for graduates returning to Tunisia, including—

  • Official confirmation of U.S. institutional or program accreditation
  • Ordering official transcripts and official letters confirming the conferral of degrees from U.S. universities
  • Individual consultations relating to career and job search concerns
  • Review of your curriculum vita
  • Resources on professional training opportunities in the United States and at home
