Students live with host families, attend high school, engage in activities to learn about American society and values, acquire leadership skills, and help educate Americans about their country and culture. The YES program is a merit-based competition open to students who would not traditionally have access to American Secondary education and who exhibit academic excellence, leadership potential, and a desire to enhance relations between the United States and their home countries.
The “Kennedy Lugar YES” program not only introduces the American culture to students but also allows them to be ambassadors of their own countries.
