Here are a few particularly comprehensive sites to help you make connections and find resources internationally, in your profession and beyond.

State Alumni. Designed for all past and current participants of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs. Find fellow alumni in your country and worldwide. Share your ideas, learn from your fellow alumni, and find out about alumni activities being implemented in communities the world over. Focus on your professional development by searching for job and grant opportunities, and post your résumé or academic articles. Prepare your research through State Alumni’s Online Resource Center, and access over 21,000 U.S. and international periodicals, newspapers, and more! http://alumni.state.gov

Global Directory of Women’s Business Associations. Database prepared by the International Finance Corporation, Gender Entrepreneurships Markets Program (GEMS), searchable association name, country, or region. GEMS also publishes a quarterly newsletter reporting on its activities as well as event listings and inspirational entrepreneur profiles and quotes, and has released a variety of policy and resource papers on such subjects as women's networks and creating effective business incubators. http://rru.worldbank.org/External/psd-gender/.

Hieros Gamos Legal Directories. This site’s aim is to provide information on every organization, association, law school, firm, vendor, consultant, etc. directly or indirectly involved with the legal profession worldwide. It provides organized sets of links (accessible by country as well as organizational type/focus), an event calendar, and many other resources. http://www.hierosgamos.org

MEPI Alumni Site. Pilot site for alumni of all Middle East Partnership Initiative programs. Full alumni chapters are now being established in Algeria, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, and Yemen—but the site is open for alums from any country.
