Position Title: FULBRIGHT FOREIGN STUDENT PROGRAM Intern
POSITION LOCATION: WASHINGTON, DC
Department: FULBRIGHT FOREIGN STUDENT PROGRAM
POSITION SUMMARY:
Funded by the U.S. Department of State, the Fulbright Foreign Student Program awards scholarships to students from the Middle East and North Africa for graduate study in the United States. We are seeking an intern based in Washington, DC to assist with scholarship administration during the fall of 2010. This internship may be of particular interest to students involved in international education and/or the Middle East and North Africa.
This is an unpaid internship.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Various research projects
· Assist with proofreading and editing of newsletters
· Help monitor social media sites
· Prepare dossiers of new Fulbright nominees
· Support placement of nominees into U.S. graduate programs
· Work with alumni coordinator on researching program alumni
· Assist with the general administration of the Fulbright Program
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Windows software and excellent spreadsheet proficiency
· Precise attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure
· Excellent interpersonal, multicultural, oral and written communications skills
· Able to work on tasks independently once guidance is provided
· Interest in international education
REQUIREMENTS:
· Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program for at least 3 years, or Master’s Student
· Ability to work at least 15 – 20 hours
· Start in the first week of September through early December
