For more than fifty years, AMIDEAST's mission has been to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between Americans and the peoples of the Middle East and North Africa.

Recent global political events have highlighted how crucial the need for such understanding is as well as the challenge in achieving it.

Through our work in educational exchange, training, and local institutional development, AMIDEAST gives Middle Eastern and North African youth skills they need to improve their own lives as well as contribute to their countries development, and the cross-cultural understanding that helps Arabs and Americans reach beyond the stereotypes and misconceptions that often characterize our visions of one another.

It is AMIDEAST's belief that two elements—hope in an economically and politically stable future and increased cross-cultural awareness—can offer a viable solution to our current crises. While we currently reach hundreds of thousands of students with our in-region educational services, we can and must do much more with your help.
